Best Practices

Delete Browsing Data

Deleting your browsing data can often fix small issues with your browsing speed or when websites act “wonky.” It is good practice to do this at least once a month, or more frequently if you experience performance issues.

To clear your browsing data in Google Chrome, open your internet browser, click the three dots in the top right corner, go to "More tools," then "Clear browsing data." Choose a time range and select the types of data you want to remove (like browsing history, cookies, etc.), and click "Clear data,"

Update Chrome

Keep an eye on the top-right side of your Google Chrome browser. If you see an “Update” button, click on it to update your browser. This solves many performance issues, keeps important features working and is necessary for smooth operation!

Benefits of a Reboot

REBOOT: It is strongly recommended to reboot your computer at least once a week. Do a complete shut down before heading out for the weekend and have a fresh boot-up as you start your next week. REMEMBER, closing your laptop lid does not power down your computer or perform a reboot. You need to click the Windows button and then the Power button for a proper shutdown.

This includes the “Reboot Now” notification you receive on your computer from the Datapath agent. You can do it at a convenient time, but it is very important that you reboot. If you do not, your computer will be forced to reboot, most likely at an inconvenient time!
